Wonders Phonemic Awareness Slide

• Use your teacher discretion to determine if the Phonemic Awareness skill in the Wonders Manual needs to be addressed with your students each day based on that days instruction.  (If the skill has already been practiced in Heggerty that day and your students do not need extra practice, you may choose to leave out that portion of the instruction.)

Decodables

• ECRI refers to more than three decodable texts in most weeks.  We recognize this does not follow the decodable procedure from LETRS.  Feel free to adapt the decodable procedure to follow LETRS more closely.  If you use the LETRS protocol, make sure students have practice with all sound spelling patterns covered in that week's instruction.

Grammar Handbook

This resource covers all the grammar and writing conventions that you would teach in Wonders.  It includes student friendly definitions, usage examples and your turn practice items. 

Teacher's Resource Book

This collection of teacher support material is provided in blackline master format. Includes decodable passages, word sorting materials, games,  checklists, reader responses for each week and glossary of terms.

2nd Grade Handwriting Teacher's Edition

This resource has explicit lessons to teach manuscript handwriting to your students.

Wonders 2nd Handwriting Student Workbook

This workbook is provided in blackline master format.  It should be used with the lessons from the Teacher's Edition to give students practice with manuscript handwriting.
