Dear Families,
Welcome to the new school year! We are so excited to have your child join our first-grade class. This year is going to be filled with learning, growth, and fun as we explore new topics and build upon the skills learned in kindergarten.
Literacy Curriculum
We will continue using the CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) curriculum, which focuses on building background knowledge while strengthening essential reading and writing skills. This program has been an exciting change, and we are excited to see your child's progress.
Math Curriculum Update
In math, we will be introducing a brand new curriculum called Bridges in Mathematics. This program offers engaging, hands-on learning experiences that will help your child develop critical problem-solving skills. Mrs. Holmen
I am currently in my twelfth year of teaching within the Osseo-Fairchild School District. I love spending time with my husband and three children. My interests include hunting, engaging in outdoor activities, and managing our hobby farm, which includes cows, pigs, cats, a goat, and a dog. I have a passion for teaching first grade and value the relationships I develop with my students.
Mrs. Young
This is Mrs. Young's fourth year of teaching and her first year at Osseo-Fairchild Elementary! She is passionate about building meaningful connections with her students and their families. One of her greatest joys is helping students develop their love for reading. Outside of teaching, she loves iced coffee and enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors!
Mrs. Peterson
Mrs. Peterson has been teaching in the Osseo-Fairchild district for over 20 years. She has taught reading, third, second and first grade. Her LOVE of reading makes first grade a real fit for her. She enjoys helping students grow their independent skills and grow as they learn from collaborating with peers and challenging themselves. Outside of teaching she loves camping with family and reading a good suspense novel.
