Departure - Luggage should be brought to school prior to Wednesday morning. Luggage may not be brought on the bus. You may bring your child’s luggage to Orchard Farm Middle School on Tuesday, May 12th from 2:30-6:15 PM. Like a typical school day, students will ride their regular bus or be dropped off at school on Wednesday morning and begin their typical morning schedule. Students will then board the buses again around 9:00 AM to head to Camp.
Return – The bus will drop your child off at Orchard Farm Junior High (NOT the middle school!). We will return on Friday, May 15 around 1:00 PM. You will need to make arrangements to pick up your child at that time. If someone other than a parent will pick up your child, please write a note and turn it in at the office prior to camp on Tuesday, May 12. Be sure to check our camp Instagram page for a more specific drop off time.
Mailing Address – Please mail items by May 1st so they will arrive while we are at camp. Letters must be flat or the camp is charged an additional fee by the post office, which will be passed along to you. Please do not send care packages.

Medical Emergency – A nurse is on staff at all times. In case of an emergency, parents will be notified immediately.
Severe Weather - As you know, there is a chance of severe weather in the spring. There is a safety plan in place, provided by Lake Williamson. The plan is detailed and tells us where to take shelter no matter where we are in camp. Additionally, a staff member will shelter with each group of students to help ensure their safety. In the event of an emergency, expect immediate communication from school personnel.
Emergency Contact –School personnel may be reached at anytime in case of an emergency. During school hours you may call the Orchard Farm Middle School Front Office at 636-757-8750. After school hours, in an emergency only, you may call the Activity Center Front Desk at 217-854-4824 or the 5th Grade Camp director at 636-299-0340.
Insurance – Group insurance coverage is purchased from Lake Williamson by our school district. We suggest that you make sure you have your own personal insurance coverage before your child participates in the program. The limited accident coverage carried for the program may not be sufficient to cover a major accident, and does not cover recurring illness, such as asthma, bronchitis, etc.
Behavior – Students must demonstrate good citizenship. We will counsel students regarding inappropriate behaviors, and remove students from activities if behaviors continue. In the event a child continually behaves inappropriately, parents will be contacted and asked to pick up their child.
Cell Phones & Electronic Devices - Every year, there are quite a few students who ask about bringing their phones to camp. We ask that phones and all electronic devices ARE NOT sent with your child. This is based on the understanding that students having their phones will potentially create more challenges/problems that could be avoided if they were left at home.
Here are a few points to consider:
Your child has scheduled activities from 8:00 breakfast until 9:00 lights out.
Students are not allowed to have their phones throughout the day as they are taking part in camp activities. These items need to stay secured in their luggage.
We deal with homesick children every year. When a child is homesick, talking to a parent often makes it worse. Once they get through the first night, they're typically okay and have a great camp experience.
If there is a family emergency and you need to contact your child, you have the number for the Activity Center which is staffed 24 hours a day, and they can contact a member of our staff immediately. That number is 217-854-4824. You also have the 5th Grade Camp Director’s cell number at 636-299-0340.
In the event of an emergency at camp, we will provide updates as soon as each student is accounted for and safe. Information you get from a ten year old is likely to be incomplete and inaccurate. Also, in the event of an emergency, we need our students to pay close attention to direction from the adults. Being on the phone at such a time can put your child at risk.
Your child assumes full responsibility for their devices. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or broken phones.
