Bucket Drumming

Music is an enjoyable part of life, especially when shared with others. I enjoyed teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade band at Washington Middle School for 38 years. Now, I enjoy singing in my church choir, playing trombone in my church brass ensemble, and leading a Tuesday morning line dance group with many types of music. Music instruments can be very expensive, but you can easily create your own inexpensive "bucket drum" and enjoy playing along with your favorite songs.

Bucket Drumming Supplies

1)For a bucket drum, you'll need: An empty 5 gallon plastic bucket; or a plastic or metal pail; or even 2 different size old kitchen pots.

2)For 2 sticks, you'll need: Drum sticks from a music store; or a 5/8" (or 3/4") wood dowel cut about 16" long (then wrapped in duct tape to avoid splinters); or even 2 unsharpened pencils.
