The following are a list of websites that represent great resources to use at home to help your student with their science standards. Some are interactive websites with games. Some of these require some set up on your end to assign work to your student. Some are websites that give you the option to print off your own activities. Not all of these are used in the classroom for various reasons, but are excellent resources for use at home.
Legends of Learning: This is a website that our district has paid for. It can be used for math or science! I can create and assign a series of questions on a topic we have covered, which are followed by a fun game as a reward.
NewsELA: This is a great website that adds news articles aimed at children almost every day. They cover a range of topics for high interest fields, the reading level difficulty can be changed for each article, and they have optional questions. It is FREE. Our school has also paid for the program this year, allowing students to read more articles, and take the quizzes online!
Gizmo: This is another great website our school uses. While you might not have access to it from your personal computer, one we have set it up with your student they will have access from their chromebook. It allows up to virtually set up science experiments (using computer based physics programs to simulate), for use when experiments are not realistically doable in the classroom.
