We need to enhance and expand the student transition experience. We propose doing this by adding team members dedicated to building a student-ready college and through the creation of semester-long First Class workshops.

Concept

Reimagine and expand transfer/adult learner students’ orientations
- Assist with family and life sessions
- Understanding transfer credits
Reimagine and expand military-affiliated students’ orientations
- Add onsite advising
- Acclimation and transition success skills workshops
Reimagine and expand traditional students' orientation
- Managing family and life sessions
- Host mentorship information sessions

First-Class Connects

- Infuse orientation themes and concepts into weekly "First-Class Connects."
- Offer weekly First-Class workshops and programs.
  - Goal setting, time management, study skills, financial management, career development, ODU policies, healthy living and academic success.
