The goal of this project is to strengthen the capacity of the Southeastern Virginia Environmental Education (SEVEE) Consortium to deliver systemic Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEEs) across its constituent districts: Hampton City Schools, Newport News City Public Schools, Norfolk City Schools, Portsmouth City Public Schools, Suffolk Public Schools, and Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools.
Project Objectives
Objective 1
Train a group of 43 teacher leaders across the Consortium who can support systematic implementation of MWEEs in participating school districts.
Objective 2
Develop MWEE lessons for grades 5-8, Biology, and Environmental Science that are aligned with the 2018 Standards of Learning or VDOE Content Guidelines as applicable.
Objective 3
Achieve division-wide implementation by teachers and students in partnership with selected environmental education non-profit organizations.
