Students get involved in phishing accidents every school year. When students are provided with information to help fight this, they may end up ignoring it altogether. Information is constantly thrown at us. The information to protect students ends up having to compete with so much more and gets drowned out in the "noise".

The Effects of Phishing
Phishing is increasing in cyber attacks. 70% of cyber attacks use phishing. 65% of phishing attacks are successful in the U.S and 55% of global phishing attacks are successful. That is a very high percentage and we want to bring it down. So, we wanted to create an event that will inform students how to spot a phishing attack. Teaching the students will help them protect viable information online. We are trying to keep students safe and protect themselves. Also, students are constantly getting emails and they are drained out from it. So we wanted to give them a human interaction that will increase the communication.

Everyone needs this problem solved so they will not be scammed by people online. We want to start young so they will spread their knowledge to other students and even their loved ones.

During this adventure we've spoken to both administration and our fellow peers. We wanted to reach a common ground on how each other feels. We understand that our peers are constantly being drowned with information electronically so we wanted to give them a human interaction. We also understood that administration is doing their best and trying to keep students safer. This Event is a great common ground for students and administration to talk about digital safety.
