Simply put: as students, we relate to other students. From our educational fields, we not only understand the operation of technology, but can merge practical and creative methods of communication.
Our team understands the concerns of administrators and technology experts to protect students from the dangers of phishing and want them to be mindful of their online presence. We also understand that students become concerned with the efficiency of technology more than their safety. We want to create a more interpersonal communication between student and administrator
Communication is key! Communication is also challenging to achieve regarding digital safety because it goes both ways. We understand this issue can be complex and we can only hold students but so accountable to keeping themselves safe, but we can always make an effort.
Technology is widely incorporated in our everyday life, especially as college students. We live in a society where technology is everywhere and has aided us in exchanging information worldwide.
The Innovate Monarchs Digital Safety Team has been working diligently to find a relevant problem students deal with on campus. We worked through the design thinking process and used different problem solving strategies and mindset evaluations. This allowed us to specify our problem and empathize with our focus group. We understand that one solution is not the "end-all-be-all," but we are determined to improve upon this issue and make campus safe and enjoyable for students.
