Chemicals are everywhere. But WHMIS does not cover all chemicals. It covers chemicals that are a possible hazard, but specifically, hazardous products that are used in the workplace.
Some products that are possibly hazardous but not covered by WHMIS:
Explosives
Cosmetic, device, drug, or food
Pest control products
Consumer products
Wood or products made of wood
Nuclear substances that are radioactive.
Hazardous waste
Tobacco and tobacco products
Manufactured items
