Leadership is prevalent in all walks of life; leadership is a natural characteristic of human behaviour. Leaders exist in the Student Councils at your local high school, as Recipients of an IndSpire Award in Ontario, and as the International representatives at the World Health Organization. There are a diverse range of people who lead in sports, politics, community, careers and school.
Reflect upon the leaders you are aware of in your community. Consider stories of leaders in history that you have heard of or learned about in your classes. Review several of the articles on this page, reflecting on the leadership qualities and styles of a diverse range of people, including Aboriginal individuals. Continue to add to your Leadership Qualities chart by recording the leadership qualities of a few of these diverse leaders. Remember, you will be using this list later on in the Assessment activity for Module 1.
