Frequently Asked Questions:
Q- Where did the OCSU Equity Team come from?
A- The group formed in 2017 and was originally called the Identity in Education Group. It was formed by a group of teachers and parents and supported by a grant from the Rowland Foundation. The group was renamed the OCSU Equity Team in 2020.
Q- Who can join the Equity Team?
A- Anyone can join! This includes students, parents, community members, board members, teachers, staff, and administrators. We believe that everyone has value to add to the conversation.
Q- When are the meetings?
A- The meetings last year were every other week on Mondays from 4:00-5:30. We are in the process of scheduling meetings for the 2021-2022 school year. Meeting times can be found on the OCSU calendar at www.ocsu.org
Q- How can I learn more about the work of this group?
A- We post our meeting notes after meetings occur so that the public can learn more about the group and the work. We also put out newsletters and additional information on our "Outreach and Communication" page. Furthermore, we provide updates during school board meetings per board request.
Q- What if I have additional questions?
A- We have a form that is available at the top of this website that is located in the purple banner. Click on the "questions" button, fill out the form, and we will get back to you.
