Student Support
Hi everyone! I'm Ms. Kelly, the special educator for 7th and 8th grade students. I love working at ACS, and I absolutely adore helping students meet their potential.
Some fun facts about me: I have lived in a few different countries (including a country in Central Asia called Kyrgyzstan!), I love to hike and be outside, I like to paint greeting cards for my friends and family, and I am the recent adopter of a little bulldog named Peaches!
As wonderful as summer break is, I love the school year and engaging with my amazing colleagues and the hilarious, brilliant students of ACS!
Hi, I’m Deanna Gonyaw, and I’m a Special Educator at Albany Community School, where I’ve been working for the past eight years.
I live in Barton and have three children and five wonderful grandchildren who keep life fun and busy! I’m passionate about helping students learn in ways that work best for them, and I believe in creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can succeed.
I enjoy building strong relationships with staff, as well as with students and their families, and I bring patience, creativity, and a sense of humor to my work each day.
Hello! My name is Donna Bousquet, and I am proud to serve as the Reading Interventionist at both Albany Community School and Irasburg School. My mission is to inspire a love of reading in all students while teaching the foundational skills and strategies they need to grow into confident, successful readers.
This year marks my 17th year teaching at Albany Community School. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students across multiple grade levels. I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher, and later became trained in Reading Recovery and Leveled Literacy Intervention. I’ve taught 4th and 5th grades, returned to Kindergarten (my favorite!), and currently work with students in a one-on-one and small group setting as a Reading Interventionist.
In the summer of 2024, I expanded my knowledge of literacy instruction through the Stern Center for Language and Learning by completing an introductory training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. This approach is especially effective for students with learning differences, and I’m excited to integrate these strategies into my work.
I’ve enjoyed leading a variety of afterschool enrichment programs, with my most popular being Pet Care Club! I’ve also participated in numerous summer programs, always eager to continue engaging with students outside the traditional school year. In 2018, I earned my Library/Media Specialist license from the University of Vermont, and from 2020 to 2022, I held my dream role—supporting students as both a Reading Interventionist and the school Librarian.
Beyond school, I have a passion for animals, art (especially painting), and music. I love to sing and am known to break into song anywhere—including the cafeteria!
I’m excited for the new school year ahead and can’t wait to welcome all of our students back!
Hi, I'm the SEL Specialist and I’m so excited to jump into a new school year! I’m here to support students in building confidence, managing emotions, and growing strong relationships. I'm looking forward to being part of all the great things happening across our school community. I'm looking foward to partnering with you to help make this year successful for your child!
A little about me—I’m married and a proud mom of four amazing boys. When I’m not at school, you can usually find me coaching one of their basketball teams, racing between practices, or cheering them on from the sidelines in whatever sport they're into that season. I enjoy snowboarding in the winter, singing whenever I get the chance, and during the summer, my family and I are always out camping and soaking in the beautiful chaos of it all. Life is busy, but full of love, laughter, and adventure—and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
