A Personalized and Flexible Approach to Professional Learning:
- Throughout the week of Ed Camp we will use a blend of virtual learning, as well as offering PD sessions, team time, independent time, as well as opportunities for reflection and feedback. Furthermore, our intention is to model elements of personalized learning and personal learning plans to inform our thinking about how PLPs work for our students.
- Each day we will document our learning through the OCSU Ed Camp Blog. Teachers will create goals for themselves and identify how they will meet those goals through the sessions being offered and the flexible learning time. New to blogging? Don't worry, we will provide ample time and resources to get you into the mindset of blogging.
- We will provide opportunities to come together each morning in community meetings to check-in, ask any clarifying questions, set priorities for the day, and do calisthenics (for the mind & body!). Staff will then break for their 2 morning sessions (90 minute blocks) and we will have an hour in the middle of the day for lunch and wellness time. The afternoon features one more 90 minute block and we reconvene as a whole group in the afternoon for closing thoughts.
- Each block has concurrent sessions being offered. There is also team and individual time built into each block. It is the responsibility of each staff member to weave professional learning sessions into their goals and priorities each day, as well as to support each other in the learning process.
