Updates from Convent Glen

We had a wonderful Terry Fox Run today and lucked out with perfect weather. Thank you to all of our volunteers who made this event possible and to Mrs. Darch, Mrs. Flynn, & Ms. Stasie for organizing the Terry fox Run. The students enjoyed themselves so much and it was a joy to see all of their smiling faces.

Thank you to all of you, our Convent Glen Catholic School Community, for your support with our Terry Fox Run/Walk Fundraising Goal. We surpassed our goal and had a lot of fun getting there! Our final amount raised as of this afternoon is $2365.00. AMAZING!

Pizza Wednesday - Please make sure you are signed up on School Cash Online

We will be starting up Pizza Wednesdays again! Parents may order slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza from Dough Bros through School Cash Online. Orders will be accepted until October 1st. Pizza Wednesdays will begin on October 8th. If your child has any allergies, please contact Dough Bros (613 834-2002) for ingredient information.

Picture Day

Edge Imaging will be visiting our school on Friday, October 3rd to take individual

school photos.

Orange Shirt Day

Tuesday, September 30th is Orange Shirt Day. Staff and students are encouraged to wear orange to commemorate residential school survivors and to spread awareness that EVERY CHILD MATTERS!

School Council News!

Hot Lunch

We are pleased to offer Subway lunches on Fridays! Ordering is easy using the Lunchbox system (through School Cash Online). Simply log onto your School Cash Online account and click on the “Order now” button in the Lunchbox banner, which will take you to the Lunchbox ordering platform.

Orders for the week are due every Sunday by 12pm, but you can order several weeks in advance if you like! This week’s order (delivered on Oct 3) is due by Sunday, Sept 28 at 12pm.

Please note: if you have more than one child, you must ensure that you are ordering for the correct student in your account by selecting their name (above the Lunchbox banner) prior to clicking the “Order now” button.

School Council Facebook Group

Our school council elections will take place in our Learning Commons on Tuesday September 30th at 6:00 pm. Below is a link to the nomination form for those who are interested in nominating themselves for a school council position. If you are interested, please submit the nomination form by September 29th. We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning members.

1. Student Information Verification

Please log into the PARENT PORTAL HERE to verify that all student information is correct. If there are any changes to be made, please fill in the form and email the school with the correct information. Let us know which information to remove and information to add. Should any information change over the course of the school year, please ensure you let us know.

2. Responsible Use of Technology Agreement

*This is required every year*

Please log into the PARENT PORTAL HERE to review the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement. Please read this with your child/ren. Both student and parent initial and sign.

3. Consent for Use & Disclosure of Information

*This is required every year*

Please log into the PARENT PORTAL HERE to review the Consent for the Use and Disclosure of Student Information.

4. Medical Conditions and/ or Medications URGENT

*This is required every year*

If your child has a serious medical condition, allergy, etc., it is your responsibility to:

-Inform us of the condition using the Medical Condition Forms

-Submit a Plan of Care

-Email or submit all forms to the school. All information and forms are located on the Board website.

5. School Cash Online

Are you signed up? If not, SIGN UP HERE! All school purchases are done through Schoo lCash Online (hot lunch, field trips, special events, etc).

6. SchoolMessenger

Are you signed up? If not, SIGN UP HERE! All school correspondence is done through SchoolMessenger so it is imperative to sign up to not miss anything school/ classroom news. You will not receive messages unless you have signed up.

7. OSTA - Bus

Are you signed up for communications from OSTA? If not, SIGN UP HERE! OSTA sends out emails informing parents of late or cancelled buses to those who have signed up for these communications.
