The St. Pius X High School Math Department prides itself with presenting mathematics in a way that supports each student, as an individual, in achieving success within a challenging and rigorous curriculum. As math educators, we are facilitators of learning, rather than experts who simply deliver information to students. We clarify difficult topics and lead students through complex concepts by putting knowledge into a context that is relevant and focuses on cross-curricular connections. Whether we are planning our curriculum in an online platform or face-to-face, we interact with students and are always conscious of their different learning styles and rates, what they have already learned, and what they will need to learn in the future. All students will gain critical thinking skills which will benefit them throughout their lives but most of all,students will learn all the opportunities that an understanding of mathematics will unlock for them!
