September 14, 2018Due to picture day, we didn't not get everything done. We began learning about levels of species in an ecosystem, we will continue to learn about interactions in an ecosystem later on.

Septembre 17, 2018Students were to take their current understanding of what we have learned so far and create a scheme to explain the interactions between biotic and abiotic elements of an ecosystem.

Le 28 septembre, 2018We began learning about the different ways in which organisms cooperate in an ecosystem by learning what and how they eat.

Le 4 octobre, 2018We reviewed and finished learning about the types of organisms by what they eat and discussed the similarities and differences between them.

Le 12 octobre, 2018We reviewed the definitions of food chains and food webs. Students were given handouts to practice their understanding. Questions that were not complete in class are to be submitted next class.

Le 15 Octobre, 2018Today we went over the roles of organisms in an ecosystem, food chains and food webs.

Le 18 Octobre , 2018Today students did the quiz, we took up the answers once everyone had completed it.
Leçon 15 - Changement dans les écosystèmes
Le 19 octobre, 2018Today we reviewed the answers from the quiz. Afterwards I told a story to the students about different events that changed ecosystems and how. They had to complete an exit ticket and tell me about the most interesting story they heard today and why.

Leçon 17 & 18 - L'impact des humains
le 25 et 26 octobre, 2018Today we reviewed the material that some students owed me to make sure everyone knew where they stood. We then began our class discussion about different ways humans impact different ecosystems. This will carry over into the second lesson as well.

Leçon 28 - Les structures
le 26 novembre, 2018As a class, we took up the answers to the questions of the test. Afterward, we began our lecture on structures. Students were given a hand out that we will correct together next class.

le 29 novembre, 2018Today students were given a practice package to help them understand classification of structures and how external forces, like gravity, work.
Leçon 30 - Les structures et les forces externes
le 30 novembre, 2018Today we reviewed the packages they were given and had time to complete them. We then continued on to talk about external forces such as gravity.
Leçon 31 - Journale de laboratoire 1
le 3 décembre, 2018Today we began our lab. Students had to build the tallest and strongest structure they could think of using 10 spaghetti sticks and 10 marshmallows. Those structures had to then be tested against wind and earthquakes. They had to do the lab and submit their findings. They also had to take a photo of the structure and have it in their Google Drive Science folder in their student account.

Leçon 33 - Les forces internes
le 7 décembre, 2018The students learned about internal forces and how they can manipulate a building. Students were given a practice sheet with will correct together after the lab.

le 10 décembre, 2018Today we began our second lab. Students had to build the strongest structure they could think of using 12 popsicle sticks sticks and 1 stick of hot glue. Those structures had to then be tested against at least one thick, hardcover textbook. They had to do the lab and submit their findings. They also had to take a photo of the structure and have it in their Google Drive Science folder in their student account.

le 14 décembre, 2018Today I let students finish their labs to hand in. Afterwards, we discussed all the important things a designer and engineer have to consider when making a structure.

le 17 décembre, 2018The students and I reviewed the concepts we have covered since the beginning of systems for their quiz next class.
