Building French Skills at Home

Here are some websites that you can visit at home to practice your French!

      • In the toolbox section, you will find lots of vocabulary words, expressions and grammar. If you click on a word or phrase, it will read it out to you! This site is great for reference, or for practising words orally.
      • Go to the Zone des petits to watch full length French TV shows. Check out full episodes of Franklin, Chirp, Alicia, or Bookaboo.
      • Practice French vocabulary at a beginner level. Listen to the vocabulary words and then play a game to check your understanding.
      • Choose a topic, complete the mini lesson, play a game, then take a test. Great for reviewing frequently used vocabulary and simple grammar concepts. Beginner and intermediate levels.
      • Great lessons and practice for students at any level. Using this for even 5-10 minutes a day will help build confidence and fluency in French. Helps you work on your listening, translating, writing, and speaking.

Editing & Translating

      • This is a fantastic resource that helps you edit your work. It catches any issues with spelling and grammar and guides you to a solution.
      • If you need help finding the English or French translation of a word, I strongly recommend using Reverso instead of other websites such as Google Translate. Reverso is much more accurate and takes into account context instead of just directly translating the words you provide.
