Consultation is Not Consent Explained by Isaac Murdoch:
"All four levels of government have the duty to consult First Nations regarding impacts on their lands but what is happening is that the government is consulting, but even if the First Nations say no, the government duty to consent is complete. They can say we consulted, but that the community said no and they are going to move forward because it is what is best for the economy. Consultation is not consent."

What is represented in the Water Is Life artwork:
"Our bodies are 70% water. When I drink a glass of water it goes into my body and becomes a part of my whole being - it becomes a part of my essence. There’s water in my brain, my eyeballs are 90% water so I’m looking at the world through the lens of water. Our heart is a water pump. When I drink that water, it becomes who I am. When I pee that water out, it becomes part of the watershed and circulates out into the world. When I sweat, my water evaporates into the atmosphere and touches the world and becomes part of the essence of another being. So, we are all connected in this world through water. I’m me right now, but In my lifetime I will transform into a family of fish, or a thundercloud, or a tree and the water will keep traveling and touching everybody’s life. I will give life to everything. Water is billions of years old and it holds memory. It is also the least understood element that we have. Science is still catching up to traditional knowledge about water. Science still has not fully explored the spirit of water - water has spirit"
