DMV Permit Page

Onondaga Central Schools has been approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles as an Online Knowledge Test Center! 

 Any OCS studen,t 16 years of age or older, with parent permission, can take their NYS Learner Permit test in school, saving a trip to the DMV.  

There is no cost to take the test.  

If the student passes, they will receive a receipt that can be presented to any DMV Office to complete the process of receiving a learner’s permit.  If a student does not pass, he/she would have to take the test again at no charge.

DMV permit fees apply and must be paid at the time of the visit.   

How to get started: the student should first visit the DMV website to study and take a practice test (or study the written driver’s manual, copies are available in the library).
