Emergent Multilingual Learners Language Profile
"The Language Profile gathers information about all students in Prekindergarten, and identifies the existing language(s) and linguistic experiences of young students and is part of an integral protocol that will assist educators in providing instructional services that best meet the needs of EMLs.
Allows you to more deeply understand the language development of the student.
Provides you with questions to determine the language development in the home language.
Although it is designed for younger students, it can be helpful to use this information during an LPT or future discussions about placement or special education needs.
"Students identified by the EML Language Profile are entitled to a combination of supports and instruction in their home language(s) while learning English. "
