OCEANSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
SCHOOL COUNSELING

Our Beliefs

We believe that school counselors serve as student advocates, mentors and teachers who develop relationships with students and families. These relationships drive our ability to support and guide students to achieve success in the areas of Social-Emotional Literacy, Academic Achievement, and College and Career Readiness; ultimately fostering productive citizens who will enrich our community and the world.

BOCES Barry Tech provides high school students with the opportunity to explore their career interests while developing the skills to become leaders both in their work and the community.

Sophomores interested in completing a two-year program at BOCES Barry Tech  are required to complete and submit this application no later than February 3, 2025. Exceptions cannot be made. BOCES Barry Tech is also an option for juniors however, options are more limited as they are restricted to a one-year program.

If admitted, students will spend four periods of the day at OHS and three and a half periods at the Barry Tech Campus in Westbury. It is important to note that admission to Barry Tech is contingent upon a separate review conducted by a BOCES representative.

Student behavior, attendance, and academic performance will be considered by representatives at OHS before an application is officially submitted to BOCES Barry Tech. Again, admission to Barry Tech is contingent upon a separate review conducted by a BOCES representative.
