Strategies for Learning At Home

Being sequestered at home and the disruption of the typical school routine will be a challenge. Our goal is to provide daily learning and assignments to keep students engaged and connected to their learning. Doing so will go a long way towards supporting their well-being during an uncertain time. It is recommended that students and families establish a daily routine to engage in the learning. Below is a sample Learning schedule. Guide your child to create their own plan.

-----------------------------------

Sample Daily Learning Schedule

  • Morning: Log into your Google Classroom. Ask an adult for help if you need it. Check out your day's lessons and assignments and decide when you will accomplish them during the day. Break it up into chunks or tackle it all. Write down what you decide and check off each task as you accomplish them.
  • Independent Reading #BookLove: If you don't have access to physical books, be sure to check our online resources for digital access to novels and picture books.
  • Pop into the Physical Education Google Classroom
  • Spanish, STEM, Art or Music 3o minutes: Decide which classroom you will visit, vary what you do on a daily basis.
  • Afternoon/Evening Independent Reading #BookLove

Most importantly, take time to be with family, play games, solve puzzles together, talk or just relax.
