What's the difference between SEPTA and SEPAG? SEPTA is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) with a focus on special education. SEPTA engages families and the community to advocate for children with special needs, and offers support to special education families. SEPTA partners with the other school PTA's to increase inclusion in our schools and community. A SEPTA may host events, activities and fundraisers.
SEPAG is a parent advisory council that communicates with the school board regarding special education policy, practices, and programs. SEPAG helps parents learn information about special education rights and policies to build relationships with schools. SEPAG's focus is on policy and communication with the school board and administration.
