Donate Books to the Ridgemont Library
We accept donations!
Used books from your home!
We would love any books of interest to young adult readers that you may wish to donate. Perhaps you're doing some spring cleaning, embarking on a more minimalist lifestyle, or cleaning out your child's bedroom after they've moved out of the family home. We are happy to take books that are likely to interest teen (aka young adult) readers. Any donated books that we choose not to add to our collection, we put on a free giveaway shelf for students to take home & keep.
You can purchase books for our library from our wishlist & have them sent to us:
Our wishlist is online here. These books have been requested by our students specifically or selected by our library staff to meet the needs & interests of our student readers. It is useful to filter the list for "Remaining" as some books on the list have already been generously purchased & donated to us. Thank-you!
Donations can be dropped off in person or mailed to:

Can't find the book you want?
Three options:
When in our catalogue, open the menu & click "show out".
This will tell you if we have the book but someone else already has it checked out.
If you still don't see the book you want ...Email laura.wheeler@ocdsb.ca to request that our library purchase the book.
Tell me the book title & the author.
I can't guarantee we'll buy it. But if it looks like a good book that other students would also like to read, there's a good chance we will.
If we do, you'll be the first to know when we get it in so you can sign it out.Check the public library.
