A variety of Music courses, including Instrumental, Vocal, Guitar and Repertoire (Band) are offered as electives in all four years of high school at LDHSS. Music students will develop essential skills in self-discipline, creativity, and teamwork through their exploration of performance, theory, history, composition, and technology. Completing the Music program at LDHSS will prepare students for admission to a variety of university and college programs including Music, Sound Engineering, Communications and Business.
Students in instrumental music can choose to concert band as a repertoire credit (AMR courses) outside of the timetable. These repertoire courses build on techniques learned in the instrumental music class (AMU classes). Repertoire courses are a half credit at the grade 9/10 levels, and a full credit at the grade 11/12 levels.
