Intermediate students at LDHSS receive two 40 minute periods of instrumental music per week.

Extra Curricular:

LDHSS offers students the opportunity of joining four performance bands:

*Beginner Concert Band (Grade 7 Students);

*Beginner Jazz Band (Grade 7 Students);

*Senior Concert Band (Grade 8 Students), (Audition required);

*LDHSS Gr. 8 Jazz Band (Audition required).

Under the direction of Mandar Gumaste and Jennifer Sheridan, these bands participate in various school concerts, regional and national competitions and field trips to further enhance their musical abilities.

Here's the Grade 8 Jazz Band performing at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival in 2018. They were received the honour of being the Top Band at the Capital Region Musicfestival in February 2018 for the 3rd year in a row!
