You will receive regular updates from your child’s teachers to give you insight into what’s happening in the classroom and upcoming events. These newsletter updates may come home via email, in your child's backpack and/or through a blog or website depending on the preferences of your child's teaching team.
You will receive a Communication of Learning to update you on your child’s progress three times a year. The first is in November and is a shorter version called “Initial Observations”. You will receive the second one in February which will be more detailed. The final one comes home at the end of June.
We will meet with you in November to discuss how your child is doing after you have received their progress report or "Intial Observations". During this discussion we are happy to answer any questions you have.
We are also available to meet with parents throughout the year if there are any concerns. These are usually immediately before school or immediately after school and can be scheduled by contacting your child's educators.
You will also be able to reach your child's educators by email if there is something that you would like to discuss or if you have any questions. Please include all your child's educators in emails (English teacher, French teacher and ECEs). If you need to let your child's educators know about something time sensitive, like end of day dismissal changes, please make sure to email everyone in your child's teaching team.
Each child will receive a "Note Tote" or something similar, which will include a little communication book for hand written notes between parents and the educators. Please do feel free to send notes in your child’s Note Tote if you are needing to discuss your child with us. We are always happy to talk with you.
Our principal, Mme Robertson, also sends updates via email to let you know about all the exciting things happening at Knoxdale and within the community.
