Jump into your learning adventure with HeadStart, an interactive learning kit for $8.99. Learn architecture and measurement skills with our engineering kit where you get to build your own bridge.
What is Head Start?
Head Start is your very own at home education kit. You can learn about STEM while having fun. In each pack there are materials to build your project, instructions for how to, and a pamphlet teaching you about the STEM concepts involved.
We made Head Start because of the need for fun science learning. As we are very self-consious students we wanted to help acheive the UN SDG goal #4, Quality Education.
WARNING
CHOKING HAZARD. KEEP AWAY FROM SMALL CHILDREN. AGE LIMIT 5+.
BUILD ONLY WITH PARENTAL SUPERVISION.
You will need to supply your own ruler, scissors and tape.
Learning Aspect of the Bridge
There are many lessons to be taught by building your bridge and many skills too. Such as Structural Integrity (how it stays together/how it's strong). Skills you can obtain is following instructions, working with materials and aquiring several building skills. There are also some aspects of physics you can learn such as gravity. Gravity has the most profound impact on a bridge. Gravity is constant no matter what the other conditions, gravity is always acting on a structure, trying to pull it down. Bridges are at an even more unfair advantage against gravity since they span open spaces. For instance, a building, like a skyscraper, is also affected by gravity, but the ground the building is built on pushes back, creating an equilibrium of sorts. Bridges have no ground beneath them to act as a counterbalance to gravity.
