As a COOP student, you will receive a detailed calendar telling you specifically which days you're at school and which days you're at you placement. If this is your first time as a COOP student, here is a general breakdown of what a semester would look like (double credit, meaning either all morning or all afternoon)
Two (2) weeks of "in-class" placement preparation
these are usually the first two weeks of the semester. Students would be in the classroom completing multiple activities in order to get them ready for their job placement (i.e. producing a resume, employability skills, Ontario human rights code etc...)
At your placement
Log sheets and reflection questions are due on the Monday following the week you attend
In School Integration days
There are typically 4 integration days where students attend back at school
Integration Day activities are conducted using a variety of methods including:
question and answer;
individual and group work; guest speakers;
demonstrations; role-playing; videos and computer applications
On occasion, homework could be given on those days
