Students used Ozobots to familiarize themselves with the relationship between the distance of the planet from the sun and the duration of the rotational period.
Using a downloaded code on a Micro:bit, students tested their reaction time. This activity was extended into a inquiry lab at the beginning of the semester to solidify lab writing skills. It also introduced students to technology we will be using throughout the semester.
Students used a Sphero to create a to-scale model of the solar system. They converted astronomical units to meters and then coded the Sphero to move from the Sun to each planet.
