Performance is a central component to the percussion studies curriculum. In addition to the Oberlin Percussion Group, which is dedicated to the presentation of contemporary music written for percussion, our students perform with the Oberlin Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, the Brass Guild, and the Contemporary Music Ensemble. Other ensembles include the Symphonic Band, various jazz ensembles, the Collegium Musicum, the Javanese Gamelan, the African Mandinka Ensemble, and the Trinidad Steel Band.
