We are a group of student's who think Oberlin needs more opportunities for practical hands-on learning. I would state our names but the likelihood this doc will get updated enough is very slim.
Yes, if you are a member
You must attend at least one (1) open hours session and express interest in becoming a member to the open hour holder. You must pay a membership fee (unless that is financially inaccessible) and get trained by an office hour holder.
$5
Membership magically grants you access to the makerspace whenever wilder is open (or 24/7 if you really get creative). It allows you to use as many consumable materials in your projects as you can imagine, and it allows you to store your project in our little room! Plus, it gives your some priority when making a gear request.
Most members take a filing cabinet drawer or a cardboard box on a shelf. Since our space is so darn tiny, we ask that you don't use much more than that.
Another great question! We have a request form for that here. We can't guarantee any purchase, and in general we bias towards accepting things that will clearly benefit future club members, but don't let that deter you!
No, please, please, PLEASE don't take our tools. We are working on a system that will allow you to rent out a tool, but until we sort that out we'd like to keep all our tools in the space. We don't want a repeat of the great drone disappearance.
Hmm, I don't know off the top of my head, but you can add our calendar to your gcal.
