Obamobility July 2026 

For those who can't get along the South Downs Way any other way.

Obama, with his Obamobile can take anyone in any wheelchair, across any terrain. 

He will be making the South Downs Way accessible to all those without Mobility scooters, all terrain wheelchairs, etc, or those who for whatever reason can’t transfer to all terrain vehicles.  The Obamobile takes any wheelchair, powered or manual.. 

Over 16 years taking people cross country, Obama has never refused to work with anyone, for any reason. And I wouldn’t dare contradict him.

Safety

Safety is an absolute priority. Obama has taken over 2,000 people cross country with zero accidents because the Obamobile has unique safety features. Most importantly, the Instant Pony Release System. 

If a dog attacks a pony, or something random scares the pony, the pony will run. If you have someone in a wheelchair onboard, you need to know the vehicle won't follow.

Andy Davies Memorial Challenge.

Andy Davies  started this whole project.  In his memory we want to make the full length of the South Downs Way, Winchester to Beachy Head, accessible to people using wheelchairs.

Andy hiked everywhere, cycled everywhere else and climbed the rest. A passionate outdoor man, he wanted to make the South Downs Way accessible to everyone. MD was progressively limiting his options and he wanted to reverse the process. Sadly MD won the race and he won't see his dream come true, but we intend to make it happen for him, and as a memorial to a genuinely good man.

Andy was the driving force behind the original plan, and without his leadership and contacts we are not sure we can manage the full length of the South Downs Way, taking 22 people in wheelchairs over 11 days. The new plan is a 5 day demonstration of access. Rather than 5 mile A to B sections we will be taking people from an easy parking location on the South Downs Way for a brief trip to show as many people as possible, what we can do.

Saturday 25th July 10am-3pm – Launch and first Taster Day at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Monday 27th July 10am-3pm – Taster Day based at Southease

Tuesday 28th July 10am-5pm (approx) – Full stage from Cocking to Whiteways

Thursday 30th July 10am-3pm – Taster Day based at Devils Dyke

Friday 31st July 10am-3pm – Taster Day based at Beachy Head
