The Scholastic Book Fair came for a week and the excitement was palpable! Students came every day to look and to buy and we sold almost £800 of stock. This meant a bonus of £400 credit for the library. New books have been ordered that reflect a mix of student requests, new releases and the latest books in various series. A huge thank you to all those who gave their children money to spend at the fair, I hope they love their books.

Author Tom Palmer visited Oathall in December. Author of over 5 books for children, he had year 7s enthralled with a question and answer session and then was on hand to sign pre-ordered books. His speciality is getting reluctant readers interested in reading and he did this with a small group of year 8 students in the library.
