Ian VanderBurgh

Ian VanderBurgh is Director of the Centre for Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo, a position that he has held since 2005. As a Lecturer, he teaches mainly first- and second-year calculus and algebra courses and online courses in the CEMC’s Master of Mathematics for Teachers. In 2008, Ian received a Distinguished Teaching Award from the University, and in 2016, Ian won the Canadian Mathematical Society's Excellence in Teaching Award. Ian is well-known nationally for his work with students and teachers, as well as his advocacy for mathematics education.
