Welcome to 7th Grade Science! My name is Ms. Sara Huber. This is my first year teaching at Oakwood Junior High School, and I'm super excited to be a Knight! Though I am new to teaching in Oakwood, this is not my first time in Oakwood Schools. I attended Oakwood from Kindergarten until I graduated in 2006. It's awesome to be back in my home school this year.
I previously taught three years of 7th Grade Science in Danville and two years of preschool in Champaign. I completed my student teaching in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, which is a suburb of Dublin. I spent half of my student teaching with Junior Infants which is comparable to Preschool in the United States and half my time in a combination 3rd and 4th grade classroom. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2012 with two Bachelors of Science in Education. I also have 17 credit hours towards a Master's of Teaching English Language Learners and 18 credits towards an Associate's of Network Administration.
I live with my two dogs in Champaign. Outside of school, I like nature, reading, arts and crafts, and learning languages. I've been practicing Spanish for several years; I'm not quite fluent, but I can communicate.
