Monday - European Day of Languages

Did you know? There are 24 official languages in Europe but adding in regional and minority languages, the total number spoken across the continent is over 200.

At Leigh Academy Oaks, the Modern Foreign Language learned through the curriculum is Spanish. It is also important to recognise the range of languages spoken across our school community.

Thank you so much to the families - children and parents - who shared videos with us for Monday's assembly. The school took great joy in practising all the different greetings.

Wednesday - Music Assembly -

This week, we learned that classical guitars have nylon strings and are played differently. Individual strings are plucked with the fingernails or fingertips rather than strumming.

Classical music can be played rather than pop or rock music.
