At Leigh Academy Oaks, we use the word 'Agency' a lot. 

Agency is where pupils have 'voice, choice and ownership' in their learning and what they do at school. 

From when a new inquiry and central idea are introduced each module, children are unpicking the meaning, generating questions they would like to ask and making connections to previous learning. They are actively involved. 

When children take their learning home, continue singing, creating, making, writing, reading, they are using their agency.  We love to hear how pupils continue their real-life learning outside of school. Remember to share these moments with us as we love to celebrate them!
