Leigh Academy Oaks- Principal's Bulletin 18

10th March 2025
Dear Parents & Carers,
This week has finished an a high with us celebrating our own 'World Book Day'. Our pupils and staff really embraced the spirit of World Book Day and the level of detail on costumes was amazing to see. From speaking with many children, it was clear to understand why they had chosen the characters they had and their passion for reading was lovely to hear. It was also a pleasure to welcome many family members into the academy to read with their children this afternoon.
You may have noticed a new face on the playground at drop off and collection. I would like to introduce Miss Everett to you all; she is our new Community Liaison Officer as Mrs Osborne has transitioned fully into the role of Office Manager. Below is a short introduction from her to you all.
The weather was warmer this weekend and I hope you managed to enjoy some quality time in the sunshine.
Best wishes,
Mr L Coulson
Dear parents/carers,
I’ve experienced a very warm welcome from so many of you. It’s certainly been a busy few weeks here, finding my feet and learning the many names to match such happy faces of the children here at Leigh Academy Oaks. I’ve had the delight of meeting our police cadet pupils in Year 5 & 6, seeing some DT work in Year 4, and being placed in an imaginary jail whilst making rainbow tea with some of the children in Ducklings Nursery. From our youngest learners through to our eldest, it's great to see so many ideas being shared and links to learning being made across the Academy. The happiness and positive engagement from the children truly aligns with the academy ethos.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents/carers as well as children for your patience and support with me. I aim to speak to as many of you as possible over the coming weeks but please make yourselves known to me - I will be outside in the mornings and I am always happy to schedule discussions throughout the day.
I would like to welcome all parents/carers for a coffee morning on Tuesday 11th March at 9:30am with a key focus around community support, discussing any queries you have around how Leigh Academy Oaks can further support the community.
I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Thank you and have a fantastic weekend.
Miss M Everett.
