Understanding Autism: An Introductory Session for Parents and Carers Space 2 Be Me are offering a training session aimed at parents and carers of children on the autism pathway or with a recent diagnosis. 

Including the following topics: 

● What is autism? 

● Overview of diagnostic criteria 

● Support suggestions 

● Female underdiagnosis 

● Masking 

● Co-occurring conditions 

● Dual diagnosis with ADHD 

● Brief overview of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) 

The session is designed and delivered by Space 2 Be Me Family Support Officers who specialise in supporting parents of children with additional needs including autism, ADHD and PDA. 

WHEN: Tuesday 17th June 10:15 - 13:30 

WHERE: Paddock Wood Community Centre, Maidstone Road, TN12 6EB 

COST: £10 per person

Reminder In case you are unaware we hold a 1:1 appointment only clinic service where parents/carers can speak to a family support officer for 30 minutes. For further information please see link below. Parents must self-refer to this service by filling out a parent request form and choosing an appointment time. We do not accept professional referrals.

Space 2 Be Me is a parent led charity, working across West Kent to support children and young people with additional needs (aged 0-25) and their families.
