Theme: COUNTING (literally or metaphorically)
The theme of COUNTING literally refers to the connection to and use of numbers, the mass of poems that will be produced and the high quality of numerous entries submitted this year (a great one for all you Mathematicians looking to express your love for the subject).
The theme of COUNTING metaphorically refers to our reliance on others, our dependence on each other for support, reassurance and stability (great one for you empaths looking to express your gratitude to others).
Using the theme of COUNTING, write a poem of any style or structure between 2 - 8 stanzas, a maximum of 2 entries per student, to enter this year's competition. As usual, there will be house points given for every entry and a stack of house points with prizes for the winners in each year group. Email your entries to Mr Kirk with the title of your poem by Friday 27th September 2024.
All poems will earn a place on display in the English corridors to celebrate you as you ALL COUNT!!
World Book Day Assembly competition (I will be awarding additional House points for all who are actively involved in the assembly as well). This means you can not only present your competition entries but you can choose to talk about your favourite book, something you read recently or read your original short story.
Bookmark - it must be environmentally friendly and clearly promote the book it is based on; be as original as possible (KS3 only)
