The DHS PTO spent a very long day cleaning out display beds in the gym stairwell and creating a whimsical and character-building display for our students and teachers. They now have something beautiful to look at and think about as they pass this area each day for Gym, Lunch, and Recess.

Using over $7,000.00 Scholastic Dollars that the DHS PTO earned during the Spring and Fall 2022 Book Fairs, the DHS PTO purchased the following to enhance the learning environment for our students and teachers:
Books for the School Library
Books and book sets for the Reading Specialists' Room
Books for Teacher Classroom Libraries
Supplies to help organize and upgrade the Reading Specialists' Room and Classroom Libraries including bookshelves, bins, and displays
Seven - Storage Shelves
One - Happy Reading Book Display
Nine - Neon Picture Book Organizer Packs
One - Reading and Writing Center
Three - Book Browsers with Bins

Because of our wonderful DHS families we raised enough funds last year to purchase new hallway signs. Our wonderful custodial staff has already put up the signs and they look fantastic. The benefits of these signs are:
Provides a safe, welcoming environment
Eases staff, student, and guest anxiety
Gives confidence to navigate hallways
Helps to sustain a positive image
Provides instant communication
Increases efficiency for all guests and staff
Allows First Responders to easily navigate
Meets fire safety standards

Used $500.00 Scholastic Dollars that the DHS PTO earned during the Spring and Fall 2022 Book Fairs to purchasenew grahic novel sets for Ms. Shansky's resource room.
2021 - 2023 School Year
The DHS PTO School Gift Committee submitted a proposal to the Oakland Board of Education on November 8, 2021.
We received approval from the BOE to move forward with the "Lower Playground Enhancement Project" on November 18, 2021.
The enhancements made to the lower playground area will allow our Dogwood Hill School staff and students to utilize the updated are in the following ways: Outdoor Classroom Space, Physical Education Classes, Recess, Mask Breaks, Class Picnics, Dogwood Day, PTO Activities, and much more.
EXPENSES
The Lower Playground Enhancement Project will be completed in phases. We are hoping the Dogwood PTO will be able to raise enough funds to complete the first phase of the project by May 2022. The following items below will need to be funded in order to complete phase one.
