What is COPPA?

• Federal law designed to protect students under 13 when accessing websites online that may collect their data.

• Requires consent for any tool or website that collects student information as they engage with it.

• Parents must be notified about digital tools their students are engaging with.

What if I want to use something not on this list?

• • First, ensure that students are using this tool on their Chromebooks and that it is collecting data (i.e. they are inputting things into the website, they have to create an account, etc.)

• • Review our Digital Tools list to see if there’s a similar tool that could be used instead

• • If you still need a specific tool, ⭐ fill out this form ⭐. It will be reviewed by curriculum & admin before being routed to tech.
