For as long as I can remember I have wanted to teach children. I enjoy watching children grow and develop as individuals. I also love what I am able to learn from them.
This is me with my husband Kyle, our son Tyler, and our daughter Kaylee. Family means the world to me and I am grateful every day for having these people in my life.
I enjoy traveling. My favorite destination is London, but I am looking forward to traveling more and experiencing new adventures. There is so much to learn about the world and other cultures.
My name is Teresa, and I am excited to be a teacher, working with children and witnessing the amazing things they will accomplish. I would like to share a little about myself. I am married to my wonderful husband, Kyle, and we have two children, Tyler and Kaylee, who are building their own lives in Grand Rapids.
Before transitioning into teaching, I worked as a medical assistant in a primary care office. While I valued my work, I realized that my true passion lay in education. I’ve always enjoyed working with children, and my early experiences in child development and daycare helped me recognize the impact that education can have on a child’s life. As a stay-at-home mom, I remained involved in my children’s education and was actively engaged in the PTA, which kept me connected to the educational community. When I made the decision to pursue a career in teaching, my family—especially my husband and children—were incredibly supportive, and I am deeply grateful for their encouragement.
My educational journey has taken me through Lansing Community College, Oakland Community College, and Oakland University. These institutions have helped me deepen my understanding of how children learn, develop, and grow. I strive to honor each child's individuality by tailoring my teaching to meet their unique needs in a way that makes sense to them. I am committed to continuing my professional growth through further education and hands-on experience. As an educator, I believe that learning is a two-way process—while I teach, I also learn alongside my students to ensure I am providing the best possible support for their growth.
