About Me

Beaumont Hospitals volunteers and Nick (second in back left) at the Beaumont flight hangar in Oakland, Michigan. August 2017.

Education and Career Goals

I am currently working towards a B.S. in Health Science (concentration in pre-health professional studies), a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Business and Biology by combining the resources available to me through Oakland's School of Health Sciences (SHS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), School of Business Administration (SBA) and Honors College.

I expect to graduate in April 2023 and continue on to medical school to become a physician. I also hope to complete a Master's in Business Administration to aid me in opening my own medical practice one day.

Why Medicine?

One of my earliest memories is sitting on my mom's lap and watching her trace out the path of blood flow through the human heart. I was only 3 years old.

Nearly two decades later, medicine continues to enthrall me with the same intensity. Since then, I have had much more exposure to the healthcare field which has helped me to cement my interests and confirm that healthcare would be fulfilling to me.

I have served as a volunteer in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Troy Beaumont since 2017 where I have gained experience caring directly for patients and assisting the other healthcare staff. I have also completed multiple internships where I was exposed to interventional radiology, cardiology, neurosurgery, and hospital medicine. I also completed an internship as an outpatient phlebotomist at the Henry Ford Macomb Health Center in Chesterfield where I completed over 200 venipunctures and further refined my patient care skills. Throughout my experiences in shadowing and in providing patient care, my enthusiasm to pursue medicine has been tested and solidified.
