Equipment Checkout

Equipment is available for rental from the checkout window next to room 409 WH. An equipment agreement form must be filled out beforehand. Take time to read the agreement, as there are fines and penalties.

Equipment is checked out on a 7 day period, e.g. if equipment is checked out on Friday at Noon, it is due back by the close of the lab on the following Friday. If needed past this time, equipment can be renewed via email or in-person. Renewals will not be granted over the phone. For a THIRD renewal, you must come to the window with the equipment during media lab hours. 

• NO equipment can be checked out or renewed if the borrower has an unpaid fee. 

• Renewals are dependent on equipment availability. 

There are penalties for non-compliance and broken equipment.:

• The student is responsible for the repair/ replacement cost of broken or lost equipment.

• Failure to comply can result in: loss of equipment rental privileges, registration hold, transcript hold, amount placed on University Bill, which if not paid can be transferred to an outside collection agency.

• Due to the high volume of equipment rental and in an effort to give all access to the equipment, failure to return/ renew equipment within the 7 day  period will result in late-fees:

  • • • • $5.00/day for 7 days and then $10.00/day until returned or up to the cost of the equipment

        • $5.00/day for 7 days and then $20.00/day until returned or up to the cost of the equipment (these items are marked with a red sticker)

• Payment for late-fees is only accepted via GrizzCash.

Laser Cutter

The Department has a Universal Laser Systems CO2 laser cutter with an 18" x 32" bed size. This is for class project solutions only. Setup materials will be given and covered by the instructor.

Pricing is $0.50/min. for vector etch/cut and $0.25/min. for raster etch

3D Printing

Prusa MK4 - 250 x 210 x 220 mm

Vinyl Cutter

Roland 36" Camm-1 Pro Vinyl Cutter. Student Supplies the Vinyl Media. Transfer paper is $0.12/ sq. ft.

Button Maker

*Cost of Buttons does not include printing charge

Locker Rental

Students can rent lockers on a semester to semester basis. The media lab will provide the lock combination after payment. 

Payment is only accepted via GrizzCash. The prices are as follows:

$2.00 = Small

$4.00 = Medium  

$6.00 = Large
