TCTM1-GC 3245 Place Making and Destination Branding, 3 credits: This course examines how governments and private entities market destinations and how the marketing activities are measured for accountability and more cost efficient efforts. Students examine different market strategies as they relate to single and multi-markets, with a look at the feasibility of a total market strategy. Vital to successful marketing is a defined distribution plan utilizing new technologies and data management techniques. The course examines composite elements of a destination: infrastructure, amenities, services, attractions, accommodations, and entertainment, among others, with a goal towards marketing and information management.
TCHS1-GC 3255 Strategic Hospitality Branding , 3 credits: The importance of managing the brand is fundamental to meeting revenue and sales goals. In an era of global competition, the development and maintenance of integrated brand 2 strategies impacts the marketing and development plan, the product and service offerings, distribution channels, and pricing. This course focuses on defining and analyzing brand competition, determining customers' attractiveness, and developing market forecasts. Topics include pioneering and innovative brand strategies, growth strategies, strategies for mature and declining markets, and defensive marketing strategies.

Figuring Out Flights
For students wanting to coordinate flights, the HiHub (7 E 12th St, 7th Fl) is available to you on 10/26/2023 from 12 pm - 2 pm to meet.
It is strongly recommended that students purchase fully refundable travel.
It is strongly encouraged students consider travel insurance.
Visas
The Office of Outbound Services provides guidance on visas and passport requirements. All students should contact Mylo ZhengFerrari, yz9622@nyu.edu, to confirm travel requirements to Abu Dhabi.
Health/Travel Medicine Office
Students should meet with either their personal care physician or the Travel Medicine office as soon as they are accepted into a GFI program, but no later than 4-6 weeks in advance of the trip to ensure all health requirements and vaccination have been met.

Great News! The GFI has been approved to run. Applicants who have been approved to enroll have been notified individually and must confirm their enrollment by tomorrow, 10/18/2023 to secure their spot.

Apply Now! The priority deadline for the GFI application is this Friday, October 6th and final deadline is Friday, October 13th. We recommend students fully review the program costs and content to ensure they are fully committed to participating before they complete the application.
