My song started with a two-minute long recording of me walking to class one morning. The main sounds that I used in the song are a thud sound (not sure what the source of it was), a motorcycle revving, a truck beeping, and a guy saying something. I used the thud sound as the bass. I cracked the low frequencies way up on the equalizer and added a good amount of compression. I also added more reverb to make it sound more bass drum-y. This was the main found sound I used and it's heard through the whole song. At the start of the song and right before the drop I added the motorcycle and truck beep sounds. I didn't add any effects here because I liked how they sounded on their own, but if I had more time I would experiment with changing the sounds more with effects. At the drop, I combined them with a synth and sub drop from SoundCloud. I think this little song came out pretty nicely! There's definitely a lot I could improve on, but I think it's fun. My favorite part is the little spoken sound. I have no idea what he's saying but I love what it adds to the song.Â
The effects on the bass drum sound.
