High school students

Will I be tutored by different tutors each week? No, you have the same NYU student throughout at least a semester, unless either tutor or student find a reason to change their tutor or student.

What can I get help on? Mostly anything! To get the best help, we suggest that you tell your tutor which topics within the specific subjects you would like help with. We also suggest that you tell them the specifics of the type of help you need, which include, but is not limited to:

• Asking them to teach you theoretical concepts, like a mini-lecture,

• Already bringing theoretical questions about a topic to them,

• Asking you for help on an assigned list of exercises,

  • Please note, in this scenario, they cannot do the assignment for you. What your tutor will do is help you with the content from which these excersises come from and/or work with other problems that you will not submit.

• Asking them to find/create new exercises for you.

Our tutors are never allowed to do any assignment for you, which include, but are not limited to exams, homeworks and quizzes.

How can I ensure that my tutor is from NYU? We are asking that our tutors reach out to their students using their NYU email, that is, an email ending in @nyu.edu.

I am a parent or guardian of a high school student. Can I sign up with my email? Yes! Any email is allowed as long as the student will be able to communicate with our NYU tutor.

What do I do if I have any problems with my tutor? We have had really low rates of problems in the program so far, but if anything comes up please reach out to SUNS at nyusuns@gmail.com, describe the issue and we will work closely with you to solve your issue.
